Hallowe'en will soon be here. Do you remember your Hallowe'en costumes? What's the first costume you remember? What about your parents - did they every talk about dressing up for Hallowe'en?
I don't recall wearing costumes, although I am sure I must have! The first one I remember was one I made myself when I was in Grade 9 and invited to a Costume Party.
I created a Headless Horseman costume out of old black boots, black pants, one of my dad's white shirts buttoned up covering my entire head (with eyeholes so I could see) and a long black cape.
A bottle of ketchup did the trick for blood where my decapitated head had been, and a large pumpkin with a wig sufficed as my head tucked under my arm.
Wish I had a picture of me in that costume but I don't.

When my sons were little I always created their costumes out of whatever I had on hand. Here are a few from their early years.

The first costume I remember was being a gypsy when I was 9. Our neighbor was a belly dancer..so I borrowed parts of her dancing costume. It was a fun costume.
This year is our 1st halloween with our son. He is going to be anikan, I will be princess leia and my husband will be obi wan kanobi. My son is only 9mths..but hopefully he will have fun anyway :)
